“X-Files” film star David Duchovny has checked into a rehab facility to cure his addiction to sex, he confirms.Duchovny, 48, ironically plays an oversexed writer on Showtime series “Californication.” He even won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a TV Comedy or Musical in 2007.He said in a statement released Thursday through his lawyer Stanton “Larry” Stein, “I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction.”"I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”Duchovny is married to actress Tea Leoni since 1997. They have two children, 9-year-old Madelaine West and 6-year-old Kyd Miller.
