Messenger of Peace is one of his most difficult yet, especially because he wasn’t exactly allowed to deliver his message.Clooney, the ninth U.N. peace envoy, was scheduled to address a meeting of troop-contributing nations about conditions faced by the peacekeeping force in Sudan’s troubled western region.The actor recently visited Darfur with U.N. peacekeeping officials and said he saw that a lack of helicopters and other equipment was hindering the force’s efforts to protect civilians and itself.

George Clooney supported Hollywood writers to the tune of $25,000 the other day, Variety reported. The “Michael Clayton” hunk gave the money to the New York-based Actors Fund, which provides emergency relief for workers in the entertainment industry and has asked other stars to follow suit. “My hope is that people who can afford it will take responsibilty for this and help out,” Clooney said.

The former Fear Factor winner accompanied George Clooney to the Venice and Deauville film festivals, while wearing $3 million worth of loaner Bulgari diamonds. The 28-year-old cocktail waitress from Las Vegas’ Moon nightclub in the Palms Casino Resort hasn’t left George’s side since she flew to France with him for the Deauville Film Festival on September 1. Hard to tell if it’s serious, but George has already introduced her to good friend Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana!
